At Oakfield your child will be provided with a varied, nutritious and exciting range of food. Depending on what session your child attends we will provide breakfast, a two course lunch and high tea with drinks of milk, water and fruit juice throughout the day. At every meal time your child will sit with the children in their room and utilise and enhance their social skills by eating together. We also introduce cutlery at an early age to develop independent feeding with the assistance from our carers.
We will discuss your child's eating preferences with you and any special dietary requirements or food allergies will be documented and displayed in the kitchen and in files within the children's rooms. We fully respect our children and never rush mealtimes or expect them to eat food they do not like.
For our young babies,we work with you throughout the process of weaning your baby and provide pureed vegetables, fruit and other products approprate for their age and development. When ready, we will offer your baby a pureed version of the menu we offer to our older children.
We are at present developing a vegetable patch at the bottom of our garden for the children to participate in growing their own fruit and vegetables as this will be prepared in their meals at nursery. As young children are more likely to accept new tastes, we endeavour to introduce as much variety as possible.
Oakfield is happy to cater for all special dietary needs where possible and is a huge supporter of the 'Stop the Rot' campaign promoting dental hygiene for all of our children.
